Meet the Photographer
I’M SHARON
To know me is to be taken on an adventure because I have an insatiable curiosity about everything! Traveling and photography are my passions, and both have given me many wonderful experiences and memories. My photography journey started 15 years ago when I picked up a camera to document everything touched by man and lost to time. It led to the launch of my first photography company, Ramshackle Photography (you can still find that on Instagram) which is a name I’ve kept for the art side of the business.
In my free time, with any luck, I’m in my car, appropriately named Wanderlust, headed to places on (and off) the map. A dirt road that seems like it hasn’t been traveled on in a long time is my perfect adventure and an abandoned farmhouse or barn speaks to me of memories and stories that need to be told. Sunset is my absolute favorite time of day and, if made to pick, fall is my season. Along the way, I love a great antique store and am always looking to find old cameras to add my ‘herd.’
Like old homes and antiques, I passionately believe that people have a story to begging to be told. I adore spending time learning about my clients and always strive to capture what makes YOU unique; I want to tell YOUR STORY in ways you recognize and will cherish throughout the years. I am spontaneous, fun, easy-going and laugh a lot! I have been known to climb on roofs, cross streams, wade in lakes and balance precariously in a tree all to capture that perfect image.
I’ve been lucky enough to be married to my best friend and greatest fan for nearly 30 years and mother to an amazing son who has opened my eyes to the unseen world; he and my husband are my reason and give my world meaning. I take immense pride in capturing genuine emotion and reactions – trying never settle for that posed ‘say cheese’ image. I am very attentive to detail and strive to capture the nuances that make up each individual.
I believe in creating the best image of you, without losing what makes you, well… YOU! I’m a little quirky, a lot of fun, and I’ll do anything for a real smile that lights the eyes. Even my most hesitant of subjects (think senior portraits) always say they had a great time.
